He watched as they exchanged rings and made their deathless vows.
In all honesty, it was only decent that he should try to find some semblance of joy in the union of
his two best friends. It was meant to be a happy day, the happiest of days, both for him and for them. Joy was something he was
supposed to feel.
Supposed. He pondered the circumstances for him to be the man placing the ring on her finger before that dream was crushed by the burden of telling applause from the congregation.
That night, after the reception, Harry left. He took nothing with him, told nobody of his leave-taking, just jumped into his car and took off for the coast.
The beach was devoid of any other soul when he arrived. He parked the car, got out, and walked.
He walked along the shore, walked for miles. Whether he was walking straight ahead, forwards, or back in the opposite direction, he did not know. But over time, as he walked, he forgot that his parents had died to save him, forgot that he was the saviour of the Wizarding world, forgot that he had once upon a time secretly pledged his heart to a woman with bushy brown hair.
When he forgot why he was walking, even that he
was walking, he lay down on the sand and let the waves overwhelm his brilliant green eyes.

My first oneshot :) I was lying in bed last night when the plot came to me and I just knew that I
had to write it today.
Above story is work of Sophie Chew.
